ERNST & YOUNG
EY, a global leader in assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services is celebrating 60 years of being in business in Namibia. As the first accounting firm to open in Namibia in 1956, under the name ER Syfret & Co, the firm has undergone a diverse and challenging journey to become what it is today.
Investment in Namibia and our people has and continues to remain a top priority for EY. To date, the firm has awarded 279 bursaries to Namibians to study towards qualifying as a chartered accountant. This translates to an investment in the people of Namibia, the community in which they live in and the accounting profession.
EY in Namibia has also been certified ‘Top Employer Africa 2014’ by the Top Employers Institute. We believe that our culture, values and people play an integral part in being recognised by the market for this great achievement. Our focus on diversity and inclusiveness is integral to how we serve our clients, develop our people and play a leadership role in our communities.
Cameron Kotze, Country Managing Partner for Namibia comments:
“We are proud of what EY in Namibia has achieved. Today, we are part of the most integrated professional services firms in Africa. Our investment into the economy and our people remains a top priority for EY.
We would like to thank our people, and our alumni for their on-going commitment in living our purpose statement of ‘building a better working world’. This would not be possible without each and every one of our people embracing our purpose in their own lives and the communities in which we operate within. We would like to thank our clients, who have chosen EY to be their business advisors over the years, as well as our Government for the environment we can operate within.”
